Day 60

#60 and I think it’s time to start setting the scene.... so I’ve combined the 2 tree scapes and today it’s blue skies and clouds for my 100 day project.

Wednesday 29 May 2019

Day 59

Good morning and it’s day #59 of my 100 day project - a little red soldier beetle - well that’s at least what I thought I saw, before it disappeared in the buttercups.... I think I need to think about setting the scene for the final piece soon!

Day 58

#58 of my 100 day project and I love a fern! We have a little wooded area at the bottom of the field where they grow.

Monday 27 May 2019

Day 57

#57 of my 100 day project and a female blackbird and Ernie’s lady love ... so much wildlife on the farm it’s like springwatch at the moment.

Day 56

Day 56  - buttercup for my  100 day project - hold them under your chin and if it reflects yellow you like butter! (Or so my childhood went).

Sunday 26 May 2019

Day 55

My 100 day project -and some more background scenery for my final pic (starting to panic a bit about that one!! eeeek!) check it out on Instagram #100daysofbobsfarm pics of nature from around our farm.

Saturday 25 May 2019

Day 54

Today it’s a muntjac or barking deer - I’ve only ever seen them alone, they’re a lot smaller than the other deer and I hear it more often than I see it on the farm, though on was spotted sunbathing in the oilseed rape field yesterday.

Friday 24 May 2019

Wednesday 22 May 2019

Day 52

Day 52 - cabbage white butterfly - these love the oilseed rape and also the love to lay eggs on the nasturtiums in the front garden! They have very hungry caterpillars!

Tuesday 21 May 2019

Day 51

#51 - good morning! A tiny little wren who keeps popping up on the fence is my muse for today. For their size they make a lot of noise!

Monday 20 May 2019

Day 50

#50 - and half way through my  #100dayproject . shepherdspurse and I like that it’s delicate and the seeds can look like little hearts. What’s your favourite wildflower?

Day 49

#49  - lacewing for my #100dayproject - an illustration of flora and fauna from our farm.

Sunday 19 May 2019

Day 48

Day 48 of my #100dayproject and we have a load of baby bunnies at the farm - cute but not great for the crops.

Friday 17 May 2019

Day 47

Day 47 of my #100dayproject ... we usually see the other types of woodpecker but occasionally see this one, he’s usually pecking at the ground for tasty morsels.

Thursday 16 May 2019

Wednesday 15 May 2019

Day 45

Day 45 - dunnock for my #100dayproject . We don’t have any house sparrows on the farm, but we do have a dunnock, he’s pretty shy and although he’s just brown and grey I think he’s beautiful, especially when he sings.

Tuesday 14 May 2019

Day 44

Day 44 cowparsley for my #100dayproject - there’s a whole load of this about at the moment on the farm - it provides good habitats for bugs and butterflies too.

Day 43

Day 43 of my #100dayproject - we actually have a beekeeper that keeps hives on the farm so we have our own honey. They’re loving the wisteria and the apple blossom at the moment.

Monday 13 May 2019

Day 42

#42 of my 100dayproject and it’s a pine cone - plenty of these about down the track... I’ve read that the squirrels and woodpeckers like them but I’m not sure.

Sunday 12 May 2019

Day 41

Day 41 - robin red breast - we have one that sings it’s heart out at the bottom of the field but we don’t seem to have one near the farmhouse this year, maybe this winter? I hope one will turn up. This illustration was actually based on a photo by @aviewthroughaporthole on Instagram who has a cute pair she feeds at her place.

Saturday 11 May 2019

Day 40

Day 40 and it’s the little beetle I found with my nephew Alfie the other day. Can’t believe I’m on number 40 already (an illustration of living things I’ve spotted on our farm - everyday for 100 days).

Thursday 9 May 2019

Day 39

#39 and it’s a doe to go with the stag I’ve already done for my #100dayproject (well he deserves his lady love). We quite often see the deer on the farm, but I haven’t recently, as I’ve been stuck inside for work a lot the last few weeks.

Wednesday 8 May 2019

Day 38

Day 38 of my #100dayproject and my blackbird seems to have gone a bit awol - I hope it’s because he’s busy raising a new generation. I hear him singing away at twilight, I just don’t see him much at the moment.

Tuesday 7 May 2019

Day 37

Day 37 of my #100dayproject and it’s a little orange tip butterfly. Let’s try and plant bee and butterfly friendly plants in the garden?

Day 36

Day 36 of my #100dayproject and it’s a little blue weed that seems to grow at the edge of crops a lot. I think it’s pretty.... germander speedwell is it’s official name.

Sunday 5 May 2019

Day 35

Day 35 of my #100dayproject and it’s a little field mouse. Occasionally when you’re driving up the farm track, you see a little one scuttle across from the field to the hedgerow, they’re pretty tiny.

Day 34

Day 34 of my #100dayproject and more dandelions today, but this time it’s a dandelion clock and plenty of these on the farm.

Saturday 4 May 2019

Day 33

Day 33 of my #100dayproject -and if you’ve missed it, I’m drawing an animal or plant I’ve seen on our farm for 100 days ... today it’s another ladybird or ladybug and this one is a harlequin ladybird. Someone told me these ones bite.. is that true?

Thursday 2 May 2019

Day 32

Day 32 and today it’s a goldfinch - we don’t get may of these but I did spot one in the twisted willow yesterday.

Wednesday 1 May 2019

Day 31

Today it’s fantastic Mr fox. (Or mrs!) We had one living in the barn which we caught asleep curled up in an old boat. If we are lucky in the summer, when the cherries drop from the tree, it will come out in daylight and bring it’s cubs, just like it has the last few years.
